May is a great month! As we are approaching the shipping date, we get super excited and want to share all this excitement with you!
Last visit to China!
In about 2-3 weeks GoCubes are going to be shipped to you guys (Ahhhhhh!!!). Two days ago, Udi, our CEO, flew to China to overlook the final phase of production. Check these pictures out !! -
Tomorrow Udi will be visiting our fulfillment center, which handles packing and shipping.
We have now reached the last step of a very long journey. And we want to, no, we HAVE TO make sure that everything is going according to plan.
Survey lockdown
As you probably noticed, we locked the surveys down, and as a result, your credit cards have been charged for add-on items you purchased. In case you changed your CC, or any issues arise with your payment, please let us know via [email protected].
Addresses change
We really want you to get your cube (did we mention it already?! 😉), therefore, and for your convenience, we’ve unlocked your addresses for the next two weeks so that you can still change it (until last moment before the cubes go on a trip. To their new loving homes).
Please make sure to update your address if you’re moving.

We know our last update was not too long ago. You are probably sitting on your sofa now, biting your nails, wondering what happened?!??... Is everything OK??!?.. Well, no worries, we are here with some great updates.
We are going to lock the survey down next week! keep reading to find out what's needed on your side, and why is it such good news.
Final production phase
You remember we told you on our last update that we are about to get the first 100 production samples real soon? we are so happy to share with you that the production is progressing as expected, and unless there will be last minute surprises (finger crossed everything keeps going well) - we are on track!
By closing all orders and locking down the survey, we can get your info and have all logistics set up!! Oh, and the faster we will close the survey, the faster you will get your cube(s) at your doorstep. Excitiiiiiing 😊

Two day ago we visited the 2019 Israeli Rubik's Cube Championship, where Israel's leading professional cubers met GoCube for the first time. We were (and still are) speechless by the amazing feedback and the amount of love that we got.
We met some of our backers who were very excited to play with GoCube. They solved it with their hands, with their feet, with a single hand and even eye folded! Check out here what the Israeli Champion for 2018 had to say about it :)

Good news: We are getting VERY close to the final production phase!
In the past month we received lots of feedback from real users, and as a result, made cool updates to our GoCube design. You will get a sneak peek below.
On our side, this is one of the most intense and exciting phases of this project, with so many balls in the air, millions of small (yet important) details, BUT with a clear view of how it all converge to our “Start Production”, and your unboxing experiences!
When GoCube met Users:
Remember we told you on our last update, that we tested our first 50 working samples and gathered some really crucial feedback and insights about the experience of real users?
Our testers had an amazing experience and were impressed by the capabilities of the GoCube. But there was significant repeatedly appearing feedback that got us to the understanding that we should apply some changes to the design. So, we’ve been working days and nights (black coffee is THE real thing) to bring it to where it should be. We have implemented all the changes that needed to be made, and had ANOTHER round of testing, with the same users as well as new ones (all ages, all levels) afterwards… We are thrilled to share their feedback with you in one word: GREAT!
Some examples of the newly applied improvements include: Improved orientation tracking (required some HW and FW changes!), improved light control and light indications, improved plastic materials and colors, improvements in the stand design (to nicely hold the USB cable) etc.
To be honest, most of the things were not dramatic, and we probably could have continued with the production as is (we frequently heard that “It is more than great for Kickstarter…”), BUT we knew that we will improve the GoCube eventually, and concluded that it would not be fair to deliver an inferior product to you guys, the backers, who made it all happen!
Unfortunately, having one more round of real users’ tests and applying changes will cause an approximate 4 weeks delay. We are truly sorry about that and know how much you’re waiting to hold your GoCube in your hands. Obviously, we are trying to compensate for this time by pushing the manufacturing process even more. We will do anything within our power to expedite the release date, but without compromising the quality and user experience of the GoCube.
So where exactly are we now:
We are happy to update you that the design is freeze (the toughest phase for our engineers ;)). And we are in the process of approving each and every tiny component of the product to the factory - simply because any mistake is multiplied by 10,000!!! We are finally getting ready for the FEP in two weeks (Final Engineering Prototype), in which we’ll produce 100 full samples, as the final model for mass production.
Product Certifications:
In parallel, GoCube goes through a HUGE number of lab tests related to safety, certification and regulations matters (chemical, mechanical, electrical, environmental, radio and much, much, MUCH more), in order to pass your specific customs, and get delivered to you at the end of the day.
Package:
In parallel (yes, another parallel :), we are finalizing the package design… which evidentially also dictates tons of regulation on its own! you would not believe (we’ve never imagined) the amount of details and legal aspects related to what MUST be written inside (and on) the package to ship worldwide. But we are very happy to update you that we have passed that as well!
So to wrap it up, we are not bored these days :), and be assured we are working hard to deliver you an extra-super-crazily-amazing cube in the shortest possible time.

World's First Online Competition

Hey backers,
It's been a month since our last update, and we have so much to share with you.
In this month alone... GoCube finally meets users, takes a tour to the BETT show in London, holds the world's first online competitions, and even treats you to a sneak peek of the beautiful package we’ve made!
On the production side:
As you probably know, China's spring festival (Chinese New Year) was celebrated this month, with almost 4 weeks of holidays around it. Our factory was closed during that entire time, so there's really not much to tell about the production side... On the other hand, obviously this was known in advance and was taken into consideration in our plans, so the good news is that we are completely on track according to plan (shipping in early May)!
On the application side:
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, we took advantage of the above "production break" time to test the first 50 working samples, with real users, in real-life conditions!
(Hmmm, YES, the first 50 production samples!)
We tested it with close friends, and made sure to have a wide variety of ages and capabilities - ranging from fresh newbies to professional speedcubers.
Bottom line, it's amazing how crucial it was, and how much you learn when the product first reaches real users.
We gathered so much important feedback and insight about the user's experience, which we are now implementing back into the application, getting ready for another similar round!
The BETT show, and the...

First Production Samples

Hope you had a wonderful winter vacation!
We’re back with our monthly update, and we have so many great updates (and photos!) to share with you guys.
Well, yes, the title says it all :)
During the last month, we had great progress with the initial production phase, we started the preparations for the mass production, and even completed a beautiful package design for GoCube. Check out the details below.
CUBE PRODUCTION
The last couple of weeks were really exciting for us! After months of design, significant investments and long weeks of machining - we finally received the injection molds! This means we were ready for the first injection shot - a HUGE milestone for the project, and the true testing moment of the entire design process!
Here you can see a sample of the plastic molds (the left images), and the first injection samples of GoCube! (being assembled on the right)
Clearly, as with any new plastic product, several rounds of injections and mold fixes are needed (and have been originally planned) to reach perfection. With each iteration, the molds (and machines) are fine tuned to improve the injected parts, we further optimise the materials, the colors, and their finishing.
Still, we are happy to share with you that we are highly satisfied (and quite surprised) from the results of the first shot! We got a very well functioning speed cube, with smooth movements and very nice corner cuts - we just can’t wait to see the next round.
QUALITY CONTROL
As you know, GoCube’s brain (or heart?) is equipped with sophisticated technology, and quite a lot of it. The only problem with so much brain, is the increased potential for small errors… Thus, tests need to be run. Very commonly, companies choose to make statistical tests of random samples to save costs... BUT we wish to assure the best quality of each and every GoCube that leaves the factory, and so we decided to test 100% of our products!
The only way to do that is to automate the testing procedure, and so we designed an ATE (Automatic Testing Equipment) to test the functionality and parameters of each GoCube, and each component and sensor during the production phase - to make sure they all pass quality control and will will provide the best and most reliable experience in your hands.

PACKAGING
Now that GoCube started the production, we could free some time to think of how we wish to package it. We’ve been working hard on designing a beautiful packaging for GoCube with a great unboxing experience, and we're extremely happy with the results :)

Last but not least, The Bett Show is an exhibition focused on technology and innovation in the fields of education. We’re excited to tell you guys that we will attend the Bett show as part of the Israel Export Institute, and we’re looking forward to showing GoCube off alongside many other edu-tech products!
